Yogesh Thakkar alias Swami Premgeet, who had approached the High Court seeking entry to Osho Ashram, had levelled serious allegations on the trustees of Ashram.
Pune: In a major verdict, the Bombay High Court has lifted a ban on the entry of Yogesh Thakkar alias Swami Premgeet and 500 other disciples to Osho Samadhi in Maharashtra’s Pune.
The devotees were banned by the trustees of Osho International Foundation at Osho Ashram in Pune over alleged anti-resort activities in 2011. The Osho Ashram is located in upmarket Koregaon Park area of Pune district.
Times Now talked to the main petitioner Yogesh Thakkar, who had approached the High Court, to gain entry to the Ashram. Yogesh Thakkar had levelled serious allegations on the trustees of Osho Ashram.
“After Osho’s death, few foreigners took control of the whole place. Properties, daily incomes and valuable items were allegedly taken out of the country,” Thakkar claimed.
It is also alleged that Osho Ashram’s wealth was also misappropriated to shell companies of the trustees.
The petitioner argued that ashram is not a private resort but a public charitable trust registered under Maharashtra Charitable trusts.
Thakkar said trustees banned him for visiting the Ashram and seeking justice was his constitutional right.
He said the High Court has granted a very big relief to protect Osho Samadhi. The court also said that Trustees cannot prohibit disciples from visiting Osho Samadhi.
The same High Court also says there should be a committee to ascertain intellectual property rights of Osho, movable and immovable properties held by the trust.
The HC has also put a stay on plot number 3 of Koregaon Park and the property can’t be sold or developed.
